Make Summer Smell Sweet
Two-Toned Flora Cards

The bright colors and sweet smells of summer are in full bloom.
The Two-Toned Flora Bundle is perfect to create cards for family and
friends that will arouse these two beautiful summer sensations.

Today’s card highlights the Two-Toned Flora Bundle. Below you will find the list of supply lists and directions I used to create this this card.

Stampin’ Up! has a variety of specials happening now. You can find
them listed after the directions for this card.

The Two-Toned Flora stamp set is an all purpose set for providing excitement and appreciation, or offering love and support. For those of you that don’t enjoy coloring, It offers two-step stamping. Two-step stamping allows you to create colored images by stamping the crisp outline image with one stamp, then fill in detail and color with the second stamp. Note that this set does not contain any sentiments allowing you to pick the most appropriate sentiment for the occasion.

The DSP I used for this specific card is the Inked Botanicals DSP. The exterior sentiment is from the Charming Sentiment Bundle. That said, both of these could easily be swapped out and used with any other DSP or preferred sentiment.
These 4 colors made up this cards color palette.

PIECES NEEDED

  • Card Base – size of choice.
  • Mat #1 – solid color
    cut fit your card base.
  • Mat #2 – DSP
Cut to size to fit Mat #1.
This mat is created by cutting 2 pieces of coordinating DSP at a diagonal.
I cut mine 2″ down from the top, but you can cut the diagonal any where along the long edge. Note: Both pieces of  DSP should be facing up and cut at the same time to ensure the DSP you want showing is correct.
  • Strip of coordinating DSP – 4″ x 3/4″  (1.9cm, or to fit interior mat size).
  • Interior Mat

STAMPING & DIE CUTTING
I began by stamping the images from the Two-Tone Flora stamp set and Sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set on Very Vanilla scrap:

  • 1 large flower and 1 medium open flower in Crushed Curry
(Outline full strength and filler 2nd generation Crushed Curry)
  • 2 medium flowers and 2 small flower in Calypso Coral
(Outline full strength and filler 2nd generation)
  • 2 leaf pairs in Coastal Cabana
  • 2 long leaf branches in Lost Lagoon
  • Sentiment in Calypso Coral

When all stamping was complete I positioned and secures all coordinating dies from the Two-Tone Flora and Charming Sentiment Dies around the images and ran them through the SCEM (Stampin’ Cut, and Emboss Machine). I repeated this process until all images were die cut.

ASSEMBLE THE CARD COVER

  • Line up DSP pieces to create Mat #2. Carefully flip mat over and tape them together.
  • Add Tear & Tap to the back of the DSP Matte on the long edge where the 2 pieces of DSP meet.
  • Flip mat over and add the ribbon along the diagonal seam and secure to back of mat. If ribbon is shear, add a piece of card stock, in the same color as card base and cut to the width of ribbon, across DSP seam before adding ribbon.
  • Adhere 2 pieces of coordinating DSP to Mat #1.
  • Adhere compiled mat to card base.
  • Arrange and adhere the focal image. I glued the foliage directly to the mat and popped up the floral images.
  • Adhere the sentiment. My sentiment is glued directly to the mat.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

Don't forget to decorate the envelope!

For the inside of this card I simply adhered the strip of DSP to the paper across the bottom of the interior mat. I then added 1 medium, 2 small flowers, and 1 leaf pair to further embellish the bottom.

I used a Very Vanilla Envelope to match my card. To decorate it I simply stamped a single floral image on both the flap and the front lower left corner.
