Beautifully Happy Hollyhocks Card
Hollyhocks are a beautiful plant with flowers of many colors. There lineage predates recorded history and today the plants and seeds are often passed down through generations.
This lovely flower is often associated with ambition and fertility. Why?
Ambition may be because of the plants nature of growing, spreading, and flowering. Often growing taller than most other flowers. Fertility may be because of the flowers ability to reseed resulting in many new flowers appearing each year.

This card was created using the Beautifully Happy stamp set and Dandy Designs DSP, both are free SALE-a-bration products. The stamp set is a two step process allowing you to stamp the outline of the image and then fill it in with color. On this card I hand colored the image with Stampin’ Blends in Fresh Freesia, Pool Party, and Mint Macaron.
I love the simple layout of this card. Not only is it versatile no matter the image, large or small, but it allows the use of multiple patterns of DSP. I fancied it up using an edge die from the Penned Flower Dies. The label is punched using the Label Me Fancy Punch.
Line up die cut edges by . . .
- Properly position the DSP on mat and card base, but along the edge being die cut.
(When I do this I always add a glue dot to the back of the paper to
secure its position along the edge so that it doesn’t shift by accident
when being run through the SCEM.) - Secure the edging die.
- Run all pieces through the SCEM at the same time.
- Asemble card as intended
making sure the cut edges lines up properly.
I decorated the inside of my card by simply stamping three of the flower image in the lower right corner of the mat and colored them to coordinate with the front.
Don’t forget to decorate your envelope! The envelope is where the fun of receiving snail mail begins.
