The Stamping Muse

Lighthouse Point Bundle
For All Occasion Card Creation

I created this card for a friend who appreciates the architecture and symbolism of lighthouses.

Whether needing an image to be representative of beauty, hope, strength, steadfastness, resilience,  guidance, danger, loneliness, grief, life, death, or an end to a journey, a lighthouse stands strong providing its guiding light.

As a card creator I look for stamp sets that can be used for any occasion- happy, sad, love, or support. The Lighthouse Point Bundle definitely falls it this category.

Techniques Used

This card is fun to create because it calls for the use  multiple techniques that are enjoyable and very forgiving when a mistake is made. Always a plus in my book.

Heat Embossing
I began by stamping the lighthouse in VersaMark ink on Night of Navy scrap. Next I dipped it in white embossing powder. Then I melted it with my heat tool, framed it with the matching die and ran it through the SCEM.

Blending Backgounds
I began by blending out a very light layer of Crumb Cake in the bottom of the Basis White Mat in the area where I planned to stamp the rocks and shoreline. Then I created the sky by adding light layer of Orchid Oasis ink onto the rest of the white area not worrying about a consistent layer. Once satisfied I switched to Night of Navy ink adding more around the edges and blending it with the Orchid Oasis. Continue to build the colors until you are happy with the color.

Color Blending Stamped Images
I stamped the rock image with crumb cake and added some Soft Suede to the edges of the image using a Sponge dauber. This same result can be achieved by using the rock-n-roll technique by I feel that leave this method leave sharp edges.

If you look closely you can see that I added Faux Sea Glass Shape embellishments around the lighthouse’s base and throughout the shore line to give it added texture.

As always, finish the inside of the card. No matter how simple or detailed your finishing is, it will give your card a completed look and a little more love making it be all that more appreciated by your friends and family will appreciate the effort.
