Inspiration in Ink Presents
Seaside Bay

Welcome to the January 2023 Inspirations In Ink Blog Hop. Thank you for visiting my page. The Inspirations In Ink team is a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators world-wide who have banned together to provide you with inspiration for creating handmade cards.

February will be the month of focusing on the Seaside Bay Bundle from the 2023 January-April Mini Catalog. Hope you will find some inspiration!

This Bundle is part of the By the Bay Suite, which also includes:

  • By The Bay 6” x 6” (15.2cm x 15.2cm) Designer Series Paper
  • Balmy Blue & White ½” (1.3cm) Variegated Ribbon
  • Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls

The products in this suite are luxurious. The paper has beautiful gold and pearl foiling on one side and mat designs on the other. The ribbon is extremely soft, pliable, and makes beautiful bows. The pearl embellishments glimmer with varying colors like the inside of an oyster shell.

I love  all white cards and the simple stamping philosophy that  less can make a larger impact when done appropriately. This paper offers plenty opportunity to meet these guidelines.

I selected this lovely DSP and decided I would place it on white using only gold to highlight the lovely gold foil and crumb cake colors found in this piece of the paper.

The steps to create this card include:

  1. Cut pieces according to measurements. Score card base.
  2. Place the mat in the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder and run it through the embossing machine. Add some Gold Shimmer ribbon and adhere directly to the card base approximately 2″ (5cm) from the bottom.
  3. Lines up the top, bottom, and right edges of the gold and DSP strips. Then secure the Seaside Bay edging die along the right edge and ran both pieces through the embossing machine at the same time. (Make sure the jagged edge is facing to the left edge of the strip. Save the left over scraps. They will equal about 1/4″ piece when adhered together to use to decorate the inside mat. If you want these strips to have more mass cut your gold and DSP strips wider allowing for more scrap to be removed.) Running both pieces through at the same time ensures that when the DSP is centered on the gold foil the edges of the pieces will line up properly.  Add dimensionals to the back and adhere to left side of the card base.
  4. Gold emboss the sentiment and crab on pieces of white scrap. Die cut the crab. Use the edging die to cut the top and bottom edges of the label. Attach the crab to the label and add dimensionals to the back and adhere over the Gold Shimmer Ribbon.
  5. Embellish with the gold Festive Pearls.

Don’t forget to take the extra few minutes to decorate the inside of the card.

Begin by stamping the sentiment on the inside mat.
Using the scraps set aside from edging the strip panel on the front of the card, adhere the two strips together then glue to the left edge of the mat.

Don’t forget to decorate the envelope! The envelope is where the joy of receiving snail mail begins.

I completed the card by stamping the crab and sand & shell image on front of the envelop in the bottom left corner.

Even when done simply, these extra steps are guaranteed to make your card stand out among all the other snail mail your family and friend receive.
